West Perry School District

The district’s 2023-24 Pre-K Counts grant application was approved by the State. The continuation of funding from this grant allows the district to operate prekindergarten classrooms in each of our elementary schools. These classes of approximately seventeen students meet for 5.5 hours a day and are led by a teacher and paraprofessional. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs, interests, and developmental readiness of all children with lessons designed around themes in a caring, nurturing, and fun environment. 

To be eligible for this program, a child must be age 4 before September 1st. Students are selected from applications during the enrollment process each Spring.  Priority is given to students based on family income and other risk factors. All classrooms for the 2023-24 school year are currently full but parents can still apply for placement on the waitlist in case any program slots become available at https://www.westperry.org/cms/one.aspx?portalId=76378&pageId=127925.
